Mani ( The Stone Roses )
Gary "Mani" Mounfield (born 16 November 1962) is an English rock bassist, best known for being a member of the Stone Roses, Primal Scream and Freebass. He joined The Stone Roses in 1987 and remained with them until their initial breakup in 1996. In 2011, he left Primal Scream to rejoin the reformed Stone Roses. Mani's bass lines were a key element of The Stone Roses' sound. He contributed significantly to the band's blend of psychedelic rock, dance music, and indie pop (Madchester). His dynamic bass work, especially on songs like "She Bangs the Drums" and "I Am the Resurrection," helped propel The Stone Roses to international fame. He is widely considered a highly influential and somewhat underrated bass player.
